Bunty — Terms & Disclaimer
Last updated 23 September 2026
Bunty is a notebook, not a nurse. It records what you type in and shows it back to you. It does not interpret anything, it knows nothing about your baby, and it is not qualified to tell you whether they are feeding, sleeping or growing as they should.
Your midwife, health visitor, GP or another medical professional is the authority — not this app. If you are worried about your baby, speak to them. Never delay seeking advice, and never discount advice you have been given, because of anything Bunty shows you.
What the numbers actually mean
The Trends screen counts and averages what you have logged — how many feeds, wet nappies, dirty nappies and sleeps a day, how long between feeds, how long the sleeps lasted, and how much formula and breast milk, where you have given amounts. Every one of them describes your own log over the days you recorded. They are not targets, they are not compared against any guideline, and they say nothing about what is normal or healthy for a baby of any age.
A low number usually means a busy day when logging slipped, not a problem. A missed entry or a mistyped time changes the figures, and nothing in the app is verified or corrected.
Sleeps are worth a particular word. Logging a feed or a nappy change ends a sleep that was running, because a baby being fed or changed is awake. That saves you a tap, but it means a sleep ends when you record the next thing, not when your baby actually stirred — so if you tend to log a few minutes after the fact, your sleeps will read slightly long.
Not a medical device
Bunty does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent anything, and makes no clinical claims. It has no regulatory clearance and needs none, because it is a record-keeping tool. It measures nothing on its own — every figure comes from you tapping a button.
Alarms are a convenience, not a safety system
The optional feed alarm is there to be helpful, and it can fail. It will not reach you if the phone is off, out of battery, or if iOS declines to deliver it for any reason. Please do not let anything about your baby's welfare depend on it.
The same goes for the countdown on the Lock Screen. iOS decides how long it stays there and can take it away on its own, so a feed can be due with nothing on screen to say so.
Using the app
- Bunty is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind.
- Your data stays on your device — see the privacy policy.
- You are responsible for your device backups. Deleting the app deletes its data, and it cannot be recovered afterwards.
- Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement applies in addition to these terms.
Who owns what
Bunty — its code, its name, its icon and the wording throughout the app and these pages — belongs to Derek George and is protected by copyright. You get the right to use the app on your own devices, on the terms above and Apple's. That right is personal to you and is not a transfer of ownership.
Please do not copy, redistribute, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, or reuse its name or icon in a way that suggests a connection that does not exist. Nothing here is meant to restrict anything the law allows you to do regardless.
What you log is yours. Every feed, nappy and sleep you record belongs to you, stays on your device, and is never seen or claimed by anyone else — see the privacy policy.
